How often do you land on Short Line?
That makes it the 16th least-landed-on square of 39 on the board.
On a board where every square was equally likely, each would take 2.5% of turns. Short Line takes 2.19% — only 0.88× the flat rate. The board isn’t flat because Go To Jail, the two card decks, and the doubles rule all pump traffic around it unevenly.
Why this number
No Chance or Community Chest card sends anyone here. Every token that lands on Short Line got there on the dice alone, which is most of the reason it sits where it does — the squares above it in the ranking are nearly all collecting card traffic on top of their dice traffic.
All four railroads cost $200 each. Rent runs $25 / $50 / $100 / $200 for one, two, three and four owned — owning the full set pays back in about 32 opponent turns.
